Fenty Beauty
Tangible Printed Publication
I was tasked with the exciting challenge of relaunching an online blog as a tangible printed publication. Drawing on my expertise in typography, layout, photography, illustration, and format, I set out to create a visually stunning magazine that would captivate readers.
I chose to focus on Huda Beauty's review of Rihanna's highly anticipated Fenty Beauty collection. I wanted to create a publication that was bold and graphic, so I experimented with using graffiti-style fonts for the titles and subheadings. To give the publication a more personal touch and tie in with the topic of makeup, I even went so far as to hand-draw and scan in the "Fenty Beauty" logo and subheadings using lipstick.
To further capture the essence of the Fenty Beauty brand, I incorporated the shapes of some of their products into my publication by using octagonal images. I also pulled inspiration from promotional photoshoots by companies like Jeffree Star Cosmetics and Kylie Cosmetics to create a unique and abstract aesthetic.
Throughout the design process, I paid close attention to every detail, from the cover page and contents page to the individual single pages and double page spread. The end result is a stunning publication that showcases the beauty of makeup and the power of design.
